The white rhino is especially endangered by poaching. Indeed, it is hunted for its most valuable horn, which is used in traditional medicine in China, Taiwan or South Korea. One of the plans set up by reserves is to daunt the poachers by outstripping them: after having sedated the animal, Rangers cut its horn off, and after a few samplings it is free to go.
