When a humpback whale meets a group of melon-headed dolphins
2
0
When a juvenile humpback whale meets a group of melon-headed dolphins (Peponocephala electra), and play together! This beautiful scene was observed off Tahiti.
The melon-headed dolphin measures up to 2,50 meters. It has a dark back, with a darker cape at the top of the back. The eye is circled with a black and very distinctive mark. It has a small snout with white lips, and also pointy fins. They are often seen in company of other cetaceans. They are mostly found in the waters of the Society Islands and of The Marquesas.
The humpback whale measures a dozen meters for about thirty tons.
