Walruses usually live in shallow waters, from where they can easily dive for fishing. They spend much of their time in the water, where they move more easily in search of clams, their favorite diet. They can swallow up to 59 pounds (27 kilos) a day! After that, they rest in herds for a few days. The largest males with the longest tusks sit in the center of the group.
