Reog Ponorogo

The Reog dance originates from the city of Ponorogo in the east of island of Java.
This dance loaded with mystical and magical elements is part of the Indonesian cultural heritage. It feeds on the legend of the king of Ponorogo who is attacked by a vicious monster called Singo Barong, a mythical lion with a huge mane of peacock feathers.
The video was created during the 2022 European tour of the Ponorogo Reog group.
