Cap Corse peninsula

Northern Corsica, the peninsula Cap Corse covers an area 40 km (25 mi) long and 15 km (9 mi) wide. Among the 90 Genoese Corsican towers, 32 were erected on its rugged coastline of 92 km (57 mi). The tower of Agnello, northern point of Corsica, faces Giraglia Island. Because this tongue of land is swept by the wind all year long, it homes to two of the three Corsican wind farms. On the Western facade, in the Canari region, the remains of the old mine form a strange sculpture. Closed since 1965, it produced up to 28,000 tonnes of ore per day.
