New juvenile green turtle arrives at Marine Turtle Care Centre

We welcomed a new resident to the Sea turtle care center!
Found in Tahiti by a Tiarei fisherman, floating amongst algae and other debris around a FAD (Fish Concentration Device), this juvenile green turtle was brought to a veterinary clinic in Papeete.
After a few days of tests that did not reveal anything, the Directorate of the Environment French Polynesia (DIREN) transferred it to Te mana o te moana so that it could be provided with a care and rehabilitation structure.
Named VIP, its health is rather good and no injuries could be identified. Today, VIP has eaten for the first time as the video shows. This step is necessary before considering its return to the ocean in the near future.
We will keep you informed of its progress!
