« Tahiti pearl » is produced from the pinctada margaritifera, an oyster species cultivated in the Tuamotu and the Gambier pearl farms. To obtain a pearl, a grafter introduces inside the oyster a small bead and a graft, a small part of the coat of another oyster that has been selected for its colors. This job requires meticulousness and precision.
