The Lencas, the largest indigenous group in Honduras, have long opposed the Spanish invader. Today, they still preserve part of their tradition, as the art of pottery. They use a red soil found in the surrounding mountain to create everyday objects without towers, entirely by hand. At the South of Gracias, in the small Lenca village of La Campa, The Explorers had the pleasure of meeting Dona Desideria, an artist who turns clay into pottery, characteristic of her culture.
