The vervet (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) is a small monkey that can be found all along the eastern coast of Africa. Infants are very important to the troop. The first weeks of their life, they live safely clinging to their mothers’ stomach. The chacma baboon (Papio ursinus) is a much larger monkey that can reach 44 inches (114 cm) tall and weigh 97 pounds. The chacma baboon is very social and lives in large groups of sometimes more than 100 animals. Its lifespan is of 20 to 40 years.
