Rurutu, the rising rock of the ocean in Polynesian, is the northernest island of the Australs archipelago. Each year, it is the scene of a masterly ballet of humpback whales, which have always come to find refuge in the warm waters of the Pacific from June to September. They travel about 7,000 km to mate here and give birth to their young.
