Baboon spider

0
The baboon spider belongs to the Theraphosidae family. They can reach 3.5in (9 cm) and live up to 25 years. Their bite can be quite harmful to humans but is never fatal. The baboon spider lives underground in a burrow, used as a shelter and a hunting ground. It covers the burrow and its entrance with a silk lining that vibrates to warn the spider of the presence of potential prey. As soon as the “trap” is triggered, the baboon spider comes out of its hideout and drags its victim back to it.
