In French Polynesia, the Kuhl's Lorikeet is mainly found on the island of Rimatara in the Austral Islands where 700 to 1400 individuals have been recorded. It is also found in significant quantities on several Line Islands (Teraina, Tabuaeran, Kiritimati) in the endemic state or thanks to reintroduction. The species was also reintroduced to the Cook Islands in 2007 in Atiu, which now numbers around 100 individuals.
