Drifting buoys hourly measure meteorological (atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, air temperature and humidity) and oceanographic (sea temperature ; wave period, height and direction) parameters and transmit the data by radio or satellite. They float on the surface and move with the winds and currents. Their submerged part offers a support for various concretions, algae, anemones which attract a whole marine life.
