Wooden or brass templates

The templates are used to accurately guide the manufacture of the core and the false bell. They are laser-cut from wood or brass, depending on the model required, and then fixed to a central pin. This allows the worker to build a single-use mould to the exact dimensions, inside and out, of the future bell. The mould is made up of three separate parts, one on top of the other. At Cornille-Havard, bell-making methods have hardly changed since the Middle Ages.
