Wood in his blood

Robert Marichy's grandfather was a wood turner in a large turnery installed near the river as it worked with the power of water. His father was already a turner too when he bought a small farm from 1830 in Neglia (Arinthod) in the Jura department. He reserved half of it for his workshop and started his own business in 1932. He specialized in lighting, table legs, chairs, and beds in a turnery that has not stopped running ever since. Robert Marichy watches over a collection of more than 110 egg cups made from all the varieties of wood found in France.
