Witnesses of the Normandy landings

Located in the heart of the beaches of the landing of June 1944, the town of Arromanches-les-Bains owes most of its fame to the remains of the Mulberry B artificial port. The installation, whose old Phoenix breakwaters are still visible on the beach today, was built by order of Winston Churchill. Museums, panoramas, and cemeteries have been set up to preserve the memory of a key event of the Allied victory. The Arromanches site had previously been a particularly popular holiday resort since 1870.
