Winter mists produced by radiation generally do not interfere with insolation since they gradually rise and dissipate during the morning as the earth's surface is warmed by the sun. The layers of white cloudy veil gradually lose in thickness and turn into fine trails of cloudiness present occasionally on a small scale. A too strong wind prevents the formation of mist banks by causing the dispersion of the water droplets ; too weak, it does not allow their suspension in the air.
