The winds which sweep Corsica give their shape and color to the clouds. There are 7 main ones, including the Libeccio which accounts for 60% of the windy days and blows from the southwest. The others are the Tramontane, a north wind from beyond the mountains, the Sirocco wind from the Sahara, the Mistral which cleans the sky and causes fires and finally the lesser known Levante, Ponant and Grecale.
