Wind power on the rise

In the Puy-de-Dôme department, wind energy is developing on the fringes of the Volcanoes Theme Park, in particular in Saint-Julien-Puy-Lavèze with the Sancy on one side and the Chaîne des Puys on the other. Setting up wind turbines in these windy areas, hurt by a rural exodus and the decline of agriculture, represents significant additional tax revenues for the municipalities thanks to road rentals and property taxes.
