White lion: a genetic heritage still present in the wild

Few years after the first rehabilitations initiated par the Global White Lion Protection Trust, sightings of wild white lions cubs were recorded, in particular in 2015 in the Kruger National Park region. These births confirm that the recessive gene is still present in the genetic heritage of wild populations of lions in the Kruger-to-Canyons Biosphere.
