The Explorers
Weaving is a specialty in the Austral Islands but their products are widespread in French Polynesia. The raw material of this crafting is the Pandanus, a widespread tree (notably in Rurutu). Leaves are being cut, dried and stocked in rolls. This precious tree was brought here from South East Asia by the first sailors.
