Kaiser Wilhelm II was a Middle Ages enthusiast. He logically saw the Haut-Koenigsbourg as an opportunity to anchor his dynasty in History by rebuilding it and reviving its former glory. The weapons room of the castle displays a varied range of medieval armaments. It holds numerous knights' armors, some of them over 66 lbs (30 kg). There is also a collection of pikes, halberds, rampart muskets, breastplates, helmets, and crossbows. The walls of the room follow the shape of the rock and therefore have an irregular structure.
