The Transkei, or South African Wildcoast, remains one of untouched beauty. We explored this coastal area along a 5-day trek, meeting the local Pondo tribes and learning from them. The land is in danger as an Australian mining company wants to mine for titanium and as a Chinese company is planning on building a harbour and lodges... The tribes live from their land that they protect with their lives whilst trying to develop sustainable tourism. To me the latter is the way to go. Are you with me?
