The sinuous water leads in the sea ice also named rivers, evolve incessantly, opening and closing according to the tides, the currents, and the wind. It might present a hazard for people hiking on the ice floe who might fall, especially if recent snowfall has covered them and make them less visible; however, it offers seals an easy access to water to feed.
