Waiting for the hunt to return

This Inuk woman is waiting outside the base camp for the return of the hunters. Thanks to an exceptional capillarity, the Inuit blood regulation preserves a good balance between the heart and the extremities of the body. To maintain the temperature of her body at 98.6°F (37°C) and avoid hypothermia enhanced by immobility, she has carefully covered the areas of her body irrigated by large veins responsible of significant heat losses : her neck along the carotid arteries and the jugular veins, her knees, her wrists and her head.
