Flight of Black-naped Terns
0
0
The Black-naped Tern (Sterna sumatrana) has a flapping and undulating flight made even more graceful by its beautiful wingspan of 24in (61cm). Its plumage – devoid of sexual dimorphism - is almost entirely white with the exception of its nape, a line departing from its eyes and the outer edge of its first primary flight feathers which are black. It is mainly found in the southern islets of Grande-Terre where breeding sites have been identified.
