Colonial cities
Honduras is marked by 300 years of Spanish presence. Colonial cities of Comayagua, Gracias, Santa Rosa de Copán, the historic center of Tegucigalpa and Pespire are witnesses to the mix of Amerindian culture and that of the conquistadores. All are recognizable by their grid street plan, their low houses with colorful facades, their buildings with white stucco columns and their baroque churches facing a "parque central".
