Each of these pétanque balls is stamped 'Vilac' with the name of the wooden toy factory of Moirans-en-Montagne where they are made. This name was born in 1979 from the contraction of Villet - the surname of Narcisse Villet, the founder in 1911 of Maison Villet an artisanal turning workshop which in 1951 became the Villet Frères establishments - and 'lacquer', the product used in the toys completion.
