The Mediterranean climate of the island Corsica is favorable to wine growing. It has several thousand hectares of vineyards and a few hundred winemakers. The Corsican wine is a registered designation of origin wine (AOC). At the northern end of the island, on the Cap Corse peninsula, about 17 municipalities produce the Muscat of Cap-Corse on their coastal vineyards, including Rogliano.
