Old village of Biot

0
Like most of the municipalities on the Alpes-Maritimes coast, the territory of the municipality of Biot has revealed vestiges of an ancient occupation dating back to Celto-Ligurian peoples and to Roman times. Fortified in the second half of the 14th century, the village was rebuilt by the Italians at the end of the 15th century. It remains dominated by the Church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, built around 1155 and partially destroyed in 1367.
