Established in 1975, the Nature Reserve of Scandola has a high level of biodiversity: the balance of the coastal ecosystem is stable and protected from major pollution. It is one of the only places in France where three species of Groupers coexist. Other threatened marine treasures such as the Ribbed Mediterranean Limpet, the Mediterranean Slipper Lobster, the Hatpin Ursin, and the Noble Pen Shell are also present. Here, Red Coral populations reach dimensions which are seldom observed.
