Since 1857, metal has been king at the GHM foundry of Sommevoire in the Haute-Marne department. This simultaneously hot and cold universe resonates with metallic noises generated by the different working phases. The artisans of the factory are famous for their cast iron creations. Cast iron was discovered in China during the Warring States period (475-221 BC), and it became essential in the European economy during the 19th century.
