Verifications and tightening

One of the major risks of woodturning is the projection of a piece, in full rotation. To avoid this, the wood turner must be very careful about the structure and the clamping of the wood he is going to work. He must check that the wood is not cracked nor rotten in places which could interfere with the tightening. As for the lathe itself, excessive vibrations can cause the loosening of the tailstock. Once the verifications and tightening have been carried out, it is therefore always preferable to start slowly and gradually adjust the turning speed.
