Le "Gypohierax angolensis" est membre de la famille des rapaces diurnes et la femelle est plus grande que le mâle. Noir et blanc, les juvéniles sont en revanche de couleur brune. Principalement végétarien, ce rapace recherche les zones à palmiers, dont les fruits sont sa prinicpale nourriture mais, opportuniste, ne dédaigne pas petits rongeurs et charognes.
