The Przewalski horses of the Monts d'Azur Reserve come from the zoos of Prague and Gramat and from the Domaine du Villaret (Lozère) managed by the Takh Association. They arrived in the park in 2005 and 2006 and had difficulties adapting to this vast space and coexisting with the other species. New males were introduced in 2009 to promote reproduction and increase the genetic variability of the foals.
