A biological reserve with varied forests
0
0
The forests of the Monts d'Azur Biological Reserve are populated with various species of deciduous trees such as maples, hazelnuts, hornbeams, beeches, oaks, or elderberries. They also comprise numerous conifers, among which the most common variety is the fast-growing and undemanding Scots pine. The presence of large herbivores on the reserve is essential for the maintenance of the trees. They increase their resilience and reduce their windage while contributing to the transport of their seeds for germination.
