The first spring of Grasse, the spring of La Foux gushes 656 ft (200 m) above the Fontaines Parfumées estate that it crosses through the century-old fountains of the site before reaching the old mill below. Its water, used both for the tanning of leathers and the irrigation of the flowers' fields, is intrinsically linked to the history of Grasse, the cradle of perfumery.
