Aromatic plants form a very varied set of herbs used in different fields (cooking, herbal medicine) for the aromas they give off and the essential oils they produce. Perennials, biennials, or annuals, they can be herbaceous plants whose stems and leaves are consumed or woody plants whose flowers, foliage, or bark are harvested. According to the English terminology, aromatic plants can be divided between the spices, of which the parts devoid of chlorophyll are used, and the herbs, whose green parts are used. They are grown depending on the needs for their leaves, stems, bulbs, roots, seeds, flowers, or barks.
