Sorting out the grapes

During the harvest, the cutters select the best bunches of grapes before cutting them. They cannot avoid however impurities, such as leaves, shoots, or wire clips, which get mixed in the harvest. In addition, when some of the grapes are damaged, it may be because they are affected by grey rot. All these elements can in the end alter the taste of the wine, and for that reason, they need to be eliminated. That is why sorting out the grapes, whether manually (photo) or automatically, is essential.
