In Burgundy, meurgers are part of the architecture of the vineyards. These thick walls are piles of stone piled up without mortar to delimit the climates. Many appeared in the 19th century with the development of vineyards. If these piles of stone were not intended to remain, they are today vestiges of hundred-year-old vineyards.
