A fortified medieval castle

0
The castle of Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, of which we can distinguish here the large cylindrical tower and the small octagonal tower located to the left of the drawbridge, was originally a medieval castle built in the 12th century. The Hundred Years War (1337-1453) first forced the lords of Châteauneuf to build powerful fortifications around its keep, then the castle was given to Philippe Pot, knight of the Golden Fleece and knight of Saint- Michel, who restored and modernized it at the end of the 15th century.
