0
The vines that produce Romanée-Conti wine have extended over the same area of 0.007 sq. miles (1.814 hectare) since the 18th century. Annual production remains confidential and does not exceed 45 hectolitres per year, equating to, depending on the year, 3 to 6,000 bottles. As they are facing East on a gently sloping hillside, the vines are guaranteed optimal sunshine. The limestone rock is shallow and the soil is rich in clay and iron. Highly reputed, Romanée-Conti is one of the rarest and most expensive wines in the world. Excellent vintages can sell for up to 15,000 euros a bottle.
