The European wine aristocracy is grouped into 12 families (6 French, 2 Italian, 2 Spanish, 1 German, and 1 Portuguese). The Primum Familiae Vini association (PFV), created in 1992, is made up of the largest wine families. Only 12 places are available and the selection is tough. Its aim is to ensure the continuity of the wine-growing tradition and to promote the values of the great wine-producing companies of Europe. Burgundy is honored within the association by the presence of Maison Joseph Drouhin from Beaune, in the Côte-d'Or department.
