Opportunistic and omnivorous, gulls are able to exploit a variety of foods to survive. They consume all kinds of small aquatic or terrestrial preys and also feed on eggs and chicks of other species as well as seeds, fruits, insects, earthworms... Their hunting methods are as diverse as their food ; they can glean their prey from the surface of the water or the ground, swim and dive to trap them below the surface or hover over schools of fish.
