Sound communication is one form of expression of Przewalski horses which also use visual, tactile, and olfactory language. It includes vocalizations emitted by their vocal cords (neighing, moaning, calling for contact) and sounds produced by the inspiration or expiration of air (breath, snoring, snorting). These various sounds have very distinct meanings and are used in specific contexts by Przewalski horses.
