In 2015, an expedition led in Honduras in the jungle-covered folds of La Mosquitia mountains in the Gracias a Dios department, revealed the vestiges of a pre-Columbian civilization, the 'Lost City of the Monkey God' also called the 'White City'. This city, which dates from 1000 to 1500 AD, was mentioned by the colonizer Hernán Cortés at the beginning of the 16th century and has nourished the archaeologists' fantasies since the 1930s.
