Use of the torch in glassmaking

0
The torch is used in glassmaking to work and sculpt shapes and decorations in the glass made malleable by the action of the flame. The torch temperature is adapted to the glass used: lead crystal, soda-lime glass, or borosilicate glass. When the glass begins to melt, the master glassmaker stretches it, turns it, massages it, and spins it until giving it the desired shape. The torch also serves to solder the glass and add material.
