Up to twelve hours in observation

Among the many studies carried out at the heart of the Pic du Midi Observatory, scientists can spend up to 12 hours in continuous observation during winter nights. The research happens at a lower level than that of the Observatory dome. They notably study the origins of the solar system, its creation, and that of exoplanetary systems. Many fundamental discoveries in the study of the magnetic fields surrounding stars happened thanks to the scientists and the Bernard Lyot telescope of the Pic du Midi Observatory.
