A privileged view of the Mediterranean

The rock of Orméa culminates at 3,714 ft (1,132 m) and offers a privileged view of the village of Castellar and the Mediterranean coast in the Alpes-Maritimes department. It is accessible on foot from Castellar by first following the path leading to Monte Carpano, on the Italian border. The steep ascent with a 2,559 ft (780 m) elevation gain ends in a pine forest.
