A city rebuilt by Auguste Perret

The city of Le Havre in the Seine-Maritime department was rebuilt following the bombings of the Second World War. Since July 15, 2005, the Norman city reconstructed by architect Auguste Perret has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The French architect designed the reconstruction of Le Havre based on the buildings miraculously spared from the bombardments. Certain streets, such as the famous Foch Avenue, have thus retained their original route, and the emblematic sites of the city have been highlighted.
